Video recording and backup
MPEG-4 compression technology provides high compression ratio with minimum loss of quality. The DVRs provide synchronous recording of 16 video and 4 audio channels to internal HDD, and support installation of 2 additional internal HDDs. For further expansion, you can use SCSI port to connect external SCSI RAID arrays. The DVRs also support video/audio backup to a built-in DVD-RW, as well as to external USB storage.
Motion detection and Camera Obscuration / Video Blind detection
The DVRs offer full-featured motion detection (256 blocks) allowing to adjust its sensitivity and target area independently for daytime and nighttime, as well as Camera Obscuration / Video Blind detection. Motion detection also provides retrospective video analysis, when you need to search for motion in a specific area of the recorded video.
Recorded video retention
S.M.A.R.T support allows to perform continuous monitoring of hard disk drives used for video storage. If there is a threat of disk drive failure (overheating or damage), the system will warn the operator preliminarily, helping to avoid any loss of valuable data.
Telemetry
The STR-1681 DVRs support PTZ control using front panel buttons or IR remote controller. Cameras can be controlled locally from the DVR, or remotely from RAS+ Software. PTZ control is performed via RS-232/RS-485 interfaces. Special Smartec keyboards can be used to control one or several STR-1681 DVRs through RS232 or RS485.
RAS+ Remote Administration Software
Remote administration software is supplied with the DVRs and is used for:
- Real time video viewing
- Remote video search (date/time/event) and playback from STR-1681’s video archive
- DVR status control and notification
- Event notification from DVR
- Advanced DVR setup, including firmware upgrades
- Simultaneous video viewing from multiple STRs, using 3D site maps
- Simultaneous connection to multiple DVRs.
