Local video from security cameras can be viewed on CRT or LCD-monitor, connected to STR-0484 through the BNC-connector, or on a computer monitor through the VGA-input. Thus alarm video can be transmitted from DVR on an additional Spot-monitor. 4-ch DVR can be connected to the Ethernet network via RJ-45-connector that allows user to combine multiple remote objects in one security system. To handle with several local surveillance systems new 4-ch DVRs are equipped with RMS software.

Ability to select the recording speed for each channel
This network DVR allows operator to convert video in MPEG4, record, play back and transmit video over the network in CIF (352x288 pix.) or 2CIF (720h288 pix.) resolution at 100 fps or Full D1 (720x576 pix.) resolution at 50 fps total frame rate on all channels. For remote video viewing over the network MPEG-4 format can be used. In addition, 4-ch DVR allows user to adjust quality and recording speed individually for each channel.

Enhanced disk space usage and information storage
STR-0484 is equipped with a 250 GB HDD SATA. For larger video archive user can replace this HDD with a larger capacity drive or install an additional HDD. Due to SMART techology, 4-ch DVR provides continuous monitoring of the HDD operation. In case of HDD malfunction (overheating, damage or another critical situation) DVR immediately «informs» user about operation problems to provide safety of video information.

Remote control of PTZ-cameras
4-ch DVR provides remote control of CCTV cameras and their PTZ-functions, using Smartec STT-CN3R1 system keyboard or IR Controller. For this new DVR allows user to assign ID for each of the four cameras and select one of the nine telemetry protocols, including Pelco P and Pelco D. For remote PTZ control through DVR user can utilize RMS software.

Recording and playback of sound information
Smartec STC-0484 has 4 audio inputs, which can be used for sound recording from each channel, increasing the information content of the monitoring objects. If necessary, new 4-ch DVR enables user to view video streams with audio as well as to record and transmit it over the network. For audio information user can utilize speakers, connected to the DVR through the audio output.

STR-0484 alarm responses and selection of the recording/search modes
Network DVR features motion detection, as well as 4 alarm inputs for external alarm sensors and 4 relay outputs to control external devices. Upon receiving of the alarm signal 4-ch DVR can display an alarm image on the Spot-monitor, start video recording, make an alarm signal or send text notification on e-mail. New DVR «considers» as an alarm event such events as loss of video signal, motion detection, camera obscuration and alarm signals from external security sensors.

Along with an alarm recording STR-0484 enables user to set manual, alarm or schedule recording modes. 4-ch DVR provides video search by event, date or time. The obtained information can be copied to DVD or external USB-device.

Ability to deploy local or territorially-distributed surveillance systems
Using STR-0484 and RMS software user can deploy local or territorially-distributed medium security system by combining a network of multiple devices with a single point of video monitoring. Configuring of 4-ch DVR and control its operation can be carried out via STT-CN3R1 remote control or using RMS software.
