Wide dynamic range
The WDR mode allows to provide balanced images with high level of detail, even when intensity of illumination within image varies excessively (e.g., if an indoor camera is pointed towards a window). In this case, thanks to Double Scan CCD, camera uses two different shutter speeds to get two fields later used to generate the final video stream.
Day-and-night surveillance
The STC-3003 is equipped with removable IR cut filter, which allows using the camera day and night. In color mode, the STC-3003 provides 0.5 Lux minimum illumination level. When light level is reduced, IR filter is removed and the camera switches to black/white mode offering 0.04 Lux minimum scene illumination.
IR filter dwell time is set via menu. The STC-3003 can be also switched to black-white/color mode remotely by contact closure (ex. by control output of IR illuminator).
In extremely low-light environment, the camera can activate frame integration algorithm. In this mode, exposure time is increased in accordance with user-selectable ratio, which allows more charge to be accumulated on CCD elements.
Special features
Due to implementation of electronic shutter speed manual adjustment, the STC-3003 can be used to observe fast-moving objects. For instance, if electronic shutter speed is set to 1/250 sec, the camera can be used for highway traffic monitoring including license plate recognition.
The integrated DSP enables contour sharpness enhancement which results in considerable improvement of image perception.
Privacy feature allows to hide from viewing by unauthorized operators up to 16 image areas that might contain confidential information.
In addition to the traditional BNC video output, the camera is also equipped with S-Video connector and twisted pair output (UTP). The built-in UTP-converter (by NVT) converts composite video signal into differential balanced signal for further transmission along twisted-pair cable. In this way, video can be transmitted to distances over 1 km from camera site.
