STC-IPX3980A features VCA Presence video analytics package, which greatly enhances IP-surveillance systems. Due to this package, network PTZ camera can analyze images and detect the objects in the monitoring area. When installing an optional VCA Surveillance license, the operator can use such analytic functions of the camera, as classification of the objects (people, cars, etc.), tracking of their directions and speed, counting the number of the objects, detection of missing items, objects’ temporary stay analysis, etc.

The main advantages of VCA video analytics: 

• Reliable tracking option – network PTZ camera provides high-quality detection of the objects with a small number of false alarms, caused by changes in external lighting conditions (shadows, atmospheric precipitations, cars etc.)
• An automatic adaptation of video analytics to changes in outdoor conditions. Network camera provides stable operation even in a temporary, partial or complete cover of the dome.
• Easy web-based adjustment without using special software.
• Network PTZ camera with VCA analytics can operate as an alarm sensor (with an alarm output, connected to the input of the recording or signal activation systems).
• HTTP API for camera settings and event notifications; RTSP for video streaming; XML language for displaying information.

Description of software modules:

1. The main functions of VCA presence:
   - Detection and identification of the objects in the monitoring area.
   - Selecting monitoring areas with individual alarm settings.
   - Tracking of multiple objects (network PTZ camera can track up to 100 objects simultaneously).
   - Checking unauthorized manipulation: movement, camera shrouding and refocusing.
2. The main functions of VCA surveillance:
   - Size and Speed Filters for preventing false alarms. These filters enable the operator to perform object classification.
   - Direction Filters for setting "acceptable" and "unacceptable" directions.
   - Detection of the object in the restricted area.
   - Object’s temporary stay in the security area longer than usual. Network PTZ camera can activate alarm signal both for temporary stay and moving of the object within this security area.
   - Control of object’s entrance and leaving of the monitoring area.
   - Appearance and disappearance of various objects or items in the security zone.
   - Objects’ counting: ascending/descending sorting.
   - Double Border function: two border lines located at a distance from each other. Network PTZ camera activates alarm signal in case of crossing these borders.

Management of PTZ-functions
PTZ-functions of the camera provide 360º/90º pan/tilt rotation at up to 360º/90º sec. speed. Due to the current security tasks, network PTZ camera can be controlled manually by the operator or automatically by video surveillance system, performing guarding tours in accordance with security presets. In this case, network camera can save up to 128 presets with the selected PTZ settings: rotation angles, scaling degree, focus and aperture parameters.

Dual video transmission in H.264/MPEG4/M-JPEG
STC-IPX3980A provides dual-stream video transmission in H.264/MPEG4/M-JPEG at up to Full D1 resolution and up to 25 fps frame rate. For each video channel, network PTZ camera enables the operator to set the compression level, resolution and frame rate for optimum bandwidth/security system usage.

100x zoom
Built-in varifocal lens with 10x optical zoom provides a detailed video of the remote monitoring applications. At the same time, focal length of the camera lens can range from 3.8 mm to 38 mm. Network PTZ camera also supports digital zooming, ensuring 100x zoom (in combination with optical zoom).

Extending memory storage
STC-IPX3980A has microSD slot for recording video in alarm event mode (analytics, motion detection, external security sensor) or during network disconnection. After re-connection, network PTZ camera transmits recorded video to the server and provides access to the files.

Professional software for managing and monitoring over the network
Camera management and operation control can be carried out via standard web browser or specialized software, such as AlNet by Smartec or NetHunter by Mitsubishi company. These software products enable the operator to view streaming video, search the video archive, create graphical maps and configure network PTZ camera over the network. Professional software product like AlNet allows the customer to deploy large network or hybrid video surveillance systems, including IP-devices of many famous manufacturers.
