Varifocal Lenses with IR Correction Feature
With ordinary lenses, usually there is a problem of focus shift at transition from visible to infrared spectrum. In Smartec lenses, this effect is minimized, so they are recommended for use with Day/Night cameras. You will always get sharp image – both in color and black-white mode (when IR cut filter is removed).

Aspherical Lenses
Spherical lens system cannot guarantee ideal focusing. Spherical lens system includes a group of lenses for distortion compensation. In Smartec aspherical lens manufacturing process, precise finishing methods are used, allowing to achieve surface profiles, determined by cuspidal, quadratic, cubic, polynomial, and other functions.

High-Speed Iris
Our varifocal lenses are equipped with high-speed iris, providing wide aperture range of F0.95 to F360. Such aperture variety allows for real time change of optical transmission, and makes Smartec optics a perfect solution for use across a wide range of lighting conditions. The STL-3080DC lenses feature very low relative aperture of F0.95 and are recommended for use in extremely low light environment.

Megapixel Lens
For IP video systems using megapixel cameras (1.3 Mpix) STL-MP2812DC varifocal lens with megapixel optics is offered. The STL-MP2812DC allows to make the most of megapixel cameras’ resolution, generating sharp image across the whole range of focal lengths.

ED (Extra Low Dispersion) glass
When ordinary glass is used in lenses, it is rather difficult to achieve color aberration compensation. Both in visible and IR spectrums, there is secondary spectrum spread, resulting in image blur. In STL-5055DC this problem is solved due to use of a set of lenses made of low dispersion ED glass.
