Technical specifications of STR-1674 allow the operator to deploy small and medium video surveillance systems with high requirements to the recording and overall operation. Like the other models in Alpha Series, this 16CH digital video recorder can simultaneously carry out recording and remote monitoring over the network. STR-1674 options, including image resolution and recording speed, can be adjusted individually for each channel. For operator convenience, DVR supports video search by date, time, event and system log.
High recording speed
For video recording and archive storage, the operator can install one or two SATA HDDs, whereas video backup can be carried out on external USB-drives or DVD/CD (with optional DVD-RW drive). STR-1674 supports different recording modes, including continuous, schedule, event, pre/post-alarm and emergency recording modes. This DVR provides high-speed 400 fps frame rate recording of 16 video channels at up to 352x288 pix. resolution. In case of high requirements to the image quality, digital video recorder can record video at up to 100 fps in Full D1 (720x576 pix.) resolution.
H.264 video compression support
To compress video from analog cameras, digital video recorder uses advanced and economical H.264 video codec. Recording video in H.264, 16CH DVR ensures superior image quality, high-speed video transmission and optimal use of storage free space. In comparison with the classical M-JPEG/MPEG-4, H.264 codec allows video recorder to reduce bit rate (80% and 40% respectively), which is especially important when operating in the networks with low bandwidth.
Smartec STR-1674 security features
16-CH DVR is equipped with 4 alarm inputs and 1 alarm output with adjustable operation. STR-1674 alarm inputs can be used for connection of the external security sensors, while alarm output – for security detector or external executive device like an electromagnetic lock or siren. In addition, digital video recorder allows the operator to assign each input/output to the selected video channel, as well as to configure reactions of the executive devices and set periods of activity for all inputs as an additional parameter (days, hours and minutes).
PTZ-cameras operation control
STR-1674 features RS-485 and RS-232 telemetry interfaces for PTZ-cameras operation control. Rotation of the camera can be adjusted with front panel buttons, USB-mouse, remote control or an external system keyboard like STT-CN3R1. In addition, digital video recorder provides remote PTZ-cameras control via RMS management software (supplied).
Remote monitoring and recording settings
STR-1674 allows the operator to access its settings via standard web browser from a network PC or a mobile client on BlackBerry, iPhone, PDA with Windows Mobile 5/6, etc. In addition, RMS software provides remote configuration of digital video recorder, PTZ-cameras operation control as well as viewing of current and archive video, etc.
Hard drive diagnostics
When working with hard disks that support S.M.A.R.T. technology, digital video recorder allows the operator to monitor current HDD status. Due to S.M.A.R.T. technology, the operator also can get information on installed HDD and its current statues for timely replacement to prevent the loss of valuable data.
