Due to the wide functionality, high performance and operational reliability, STR-0883 is an excellent choice for creating medium-sized or large multi-channel video surveillance systems. This 8 channel model provides high-speed quality recording with the ability to view and transmit video information over the network simultaneously. 8 channel DVR uses effective H.264 codec, which ensures optimal usage of free disk space and network bandwidth without losing image quality. In addition, this DVR allows the operator to adjust resolution and recording speed for each channel, as well as to set different searching modes - Date, Time, Event and Text searching modes.
Displaying video in Full HD format
STR-0883 is equipped with three primary video outputs for main monitor connection: HDMI, VGA and BNC. Using HDMI and VGA interfaces, 8 channel DVR provides high-definition video transmission with Full HD (1920x1080 pix.) resolution, allowing the operator to view current/archive video in multiscreen mode (up to 16 frames). Secondary video output can be used for the monitor with VGA or BNC video inputs, displaying video in multiscreen mode (up to 16 frames) with up to Full D1 (720x576 pix.) resolution. Spot-output can be used for monitor connection with the ability to configure its settings, transmit alarm video in full screen mode or images from security cameras.
Recording settings and archive expansion
Smartec STR-0883 can record 8 video channels at 200 fps with 352x288 (pix.) resolution. To ensure higher recording quality (during face recognition or license plate identification), 8 channel DVR allows the operator to choose appropriate resolution - 720x576 (pix.) or 720x288 (pix.). Video recording is carried out on the built-in hard drive, which can be supplemented by two additional HDDs or using eSATA and iSCSI ports. eSATA is used for connection of the external DAS-arrays, which are an effective solution for small and medium-sized archive expansion. If necessary, the operator can drastically increase archive capacity with network SAN-storage, which is connected to 8 channel DVR via iSCSI port. Video backup is available on DVD/CD with built-in DVD-RW or external USB devices.
STR-0883 alarm reactions
This 8 channel model features full-functional motion detector with 5 levels of sensitivity, 192 detection zones and the possibility of a retrospective video analysis. STR-0883 also has dimming detector and camera lens abuse detection. For each alarm event 8 channel DVR enables the operator to set an appropriate response. Upon receiving alarm signal, video recorder can activate a buzzer and connected executive devices, as well as send e-mail notification with alarm images or display an alarm message. Due to S.M.A.R.T. protocol, DVR monitors the current status of hard disk drives and free disk space capacity. In case of possible HDD malfunction, STR-0883 will alert the operator to avoid data loss.
PTZ-cameras operation support
Using RS-485 interface, DVR allows the operator to control PTZ-cameras operation through front-panel buttons, IR remote control, USB-mouse or Smartec STT-2405U external telemetry keyboard. In addition, RS-232C enables the operator to connect 8 channel DVR to POS/ATM-terminals. Terminals’ information can be used as a parameter for archive search.
Full-featured software for centralized video management
STR-0883 is bundled with RAS+ software, which allows the operator to deploy geographically distributed video surveillance systems with remote access and management of recording devices. It provides simultaneous access to multiple DVRs and remote video viewing both in full screen or multiscreen modes. 8 channel DVR with RAS+ supports control of alarm outputs and PTZ-cameras operation. MapEditor software module creates 3D-maps, displaying the location of video recorders and other CCTV devices. RAS Mobile client provides remote access to STR-0883 via mobile devices - PDA, iPhone, BlackBerry, etc.
